How to Keep the Pollen Off Your Screened Porch & Patio

Our enclosures roll-up and down easily using a nylon pull chord that can be tied off (cleated) in any position from fully opened to closed. When your vinyl porch curtains are rolled partially or completely down you simply secure your the vertical sides of each panel. As seasonal pollen levels subside you can begin opening your porch. Start by leaving windward facing panels down, as shown below.

“We lived on the water in the woods and we had a screened porch in our last house, but we never used it because it was filthy dirty all the time because of all the pollen,” says homeowner Laura Gourley of Kent Island, Maryland (two photos above).
“We’d say, let’s have dinner there tonight, and then I’d have to go out and spend a half hour cleaning before we ate, so it became a space that we didn’t really use.”

“If you want to have a porch where you can hose everything down, great. But I love to have the cushions and the comforts of fabric and pillows. the PES product is great because I went out and everything was clean.
